Leaf Casting Party!

Wyatt's recipe for a leaf casting party:
Add Friends and Airedales, Sand, Wet Concrete and Some Yummy Food.
Here are some leaves, that my neighbor, 'Arnie', made last summer. This is our inspiration.
Here's some supplies to get started.
First we made sand piles on the floor of the barn. Then off to pick Rhubarb, Hosta and Petasites leaves.
Sand, then a layer of plastic, then the leaf, then the cement-glue mix, then some chicken wire mesh, then some more cement and one more layer of plastic.
Arnie gives Marguerite some tips.
Evelyn is trying to get that darn Rhubarb leaf to lay flat!
Curt is cutting the mesh to fit his leaf.
Looking good Jeff!
Mom makes Stanzie and Me, our very own pile of sand, so we don't get in the way.
Did somebody say "LUNCH"?
Stanzie is hopeful....
We turn on the charm and work the crowd.
Lunch is over and I want to make sure that everyone feels really welcomed and loved in my special 'Airedale' way.
Into Evelyn's lap. She needs a bigger lap, I don't fit.
Kisses for Curt!
Here I go again......
I make sure everybody gets a chance to pet me and get a kiss!
Stanzie gets lots of pets and love too!
Sandy's a softie, she loves all doggies!
We have to tell Becky, that her sneakers are starting to smoke!
Making time for Dad.
I'm not allowed to sit on the furniture in the house. I don't think outdoor furniture counts, Do you?
(Dale said it was okay.)
The party's over....see you in a few days and we will unveil our masterpieces!

Happy Digging!
Wyatt

We live on 3 acres so there is plenty places to dig for Bambi. Bambi is rollin down the hill to 13 years old now. She doesn't do near the digging she use to!! We got more done in our garden today.
It looks like fun was had by all at your party!! I would have loved to be there with you all!!!

  6. I am most curious to see what is the final product of leaf casting. Golly, when I read the title of the post I thought it was a casting call for a nature movie.
