The leaf of "Squirrel Town"

Bow Wow, to all you 4 legged landscapers and your 2 legged helpers!
You doggies know your leaves....except for the real tough one, that we threw in the mix!

Here are the answers to yesterdays "Leaf It" game.....
#1 Coral Bark Japanese Maple
Acer Palmatum 'Sango Kaku'

Leaf #2 (This is the real name...not making this stuff up!)
Redbud Tree 'Forest Pansy'
Cercis Canadensis 'Forest Pansy'

Leaf #3 (Not that common here in the NW, thought maybe the east coast doggies might know it.)
Tupelo
Nyssa Sylvatica

#4-Grape.....you all guessed that one!

#5-Burning Bush
Euonymus alatus 'Compacta'

And an extra credit, easy bonus leaf.....

Drops these little things on the ground.
We like to go for walks around these trees....we call it "Squirrel Town"

Thanks fur playing along!
Wyatt

  2. Ah, yes, the magnificent oak tree. Mom says that when they lived in Massachusetts 100 years ago, the yard had six big old oak trees. The leaves would never fall until around Thanksgiving. Then with the frost and sometimes snow, they were always wet and so heavy to rake and bag. Now our trees are so small that we rarely have to rake them as the winds carry them all down the street.

We had a redbud that the humans planted here, but Dakota ate it to the ground:(

    Happy weekend.

  10. Wyatt, you are so clever to know all those kinds of leaves!

Tell your Mum that bottle brushes come in lots of colours. Red is the most common, but we have pink and yellow. Next door, they have a mauve/purple one.

  19. Wow! That's so smart of you to know all that stuff. Next time I go to school, I'm going to ask them to teach me all about trees and stuff. We have a HUGE oak tree in our back yard and I know all about those leaves and squirrels and nuts, so maybe that's a start.
