DYI dog cowls

Mom made us some cozy neck cowls, from hemming up dad's skelly PJ pants!

Who is the hippest dog on the block?

Maybe dad could get some dog print or floral PJ pants next time?

A very merry terrier Christmas!

Santa was good to us dogs.

There were treats.

And soooooo many toys.

Brother hoarded them all!

Finally, some alone time with the pig!

Wishing all of our friends a Holly Jolly Season and All the Best of Everything in the New Year!

Santa revises his list

Sister has been especially mischievous.
She's been stealing my dog dish....

She has been snooping through the living room, looking for her gifts.

I have been a GOOD dog.
I spend my days quietly reading.
Today, I'm reading about Airedale 'Bobby' and his Lakeland sister 'Zena'.
They live in Denmark, but it's like they are living MY life!

My Airedale brother 'Lupe' and his Airedale brother from another mother 'Indy', sent us a box.
It said open early, so we did!

I got this big fluffy ball and Tegan got a sheep!

Then my BFF 'Samson' came to dinner and we opened more gifts!
"Look Tegan, it's a PIG"

and a GATOR!

MINE!!

MINE, all MINE!

Lucky for Tegan,
Santa must have revised his naughty list.

Wyatt reviews the book 'WoofiLeaks'

Put on your reading specs!
It's time to review a new book!

by John Emmerling and Max

Ummm A huh, yes of course.....knew that...done that.....BOL, DID THAT!

OMD! Your people really need to read this book!

I really enjoyed this page, 'Why do dogs look sad when you go out?'
and of course the  page, 'Why do dogs love the beach?'

Tegan read the chapter on 'Puppy Secrets' 3 times!!

Laughs for the whole family and especially the little bi-peds.
8 paws up for 'WoofiLeaks'

Happy Reading!

The Southwest to the Northwest

We crammed as many activities into a 4 day stay in Santa Fe as we could.

There were museums....

and more museums!

The local cuisine!
Our favorite was the great breakfasts that usually involved tortillas, eggs, beans and wonderful salsa!

This is the bar top at Harry's Roadhouse.

We visited the Botanical Garden.
Even in winter it was fascinating to us gardening types.

More art

More shopping

Tegan bought some souvenirs.

We walked around our neighborhood and saw this Airedale address sign!

But alas, it was time to hit the highway and go home :(
On the return, we stayed just outside of Helper, Utah.
The town was decorated like a Hallmark Christmas movie, so we knew it must be great!

The next night we pushed onward to Baker City, Oregon.
Where it was 8 degrees, but Paizano's had great pizza!

We drove the final route back down I-84, where we once again ran into a snow storm and dicey road conditions!
We made it home safe and sound, to find our place blanketed in snow!

Happy Trails,

The Oregon Trail to the Santa Fe Trail

We left Oregon with the threat of an incoming snow storm and freezing rain.
We made it as far as Pendleton, Or. to discover Hwy I-84 was closed and had to chill our paws at the truck stop for a couple of hours until the highway reopened.

We arrived for our first night in Boise, Idaho.
We had a nice dinner with Auntie Mary and family and sniffed around town a bit.

Then, we drove down to Moab, Utah and made ourselves at home in an AirBnB.
Ronald's place was cozy and perfect, close to the park and town.

We sniffed around Moab a bit and then back on the road again.

We had not planned to stop at Mesa Verde, Colorado...but we are glad that we took the time!

The rangers are friendly and even though us dogs could not go on the paths, we saw some great sites, like the Spruce Tree House were ancestral Pueblo people lived from 550 AD for 700 years!

We finally made our destination, Santa Fe.

One of our first stops, was the Santa Fe Railyard.
The sight of the farmers/artisans market.

Guess who we met there.....
Sue, Steve and white dog 'Siku' of 'The White Dog Army'!!

We had a lovely afternoon visiting and swapping stories.
Even though we have never met in the furs before, it was like we had known each other for years!

We stopped for a bite at the Cowgirl BBQ !!

Then, shopped our way back to our AirBnB.

Happy Trails,

Stay tuned for Part 2 and the journey home!
