Working like a dog.

Who knew? The Texaco in Oregon City gives one MilkBone with every fill up. This place rocks! So next to the post office, then we got to get to work in the garden.
So I got the tarp. I pull it all around the yard, then you tell me that we don't need the tarp today. Jeepers, what a waste of time that was.
Okay, so the real mission of the day is tidying up the pond.
We have to pull the old Cattail tops off, so the new shoots will look spiffy. Wow, I have like 500 more to do.
Funny, I do not see any cats or any tails. But,I do see the first frog of spring!

Super Sunday!

It's Super Bowl Sunday! We have 4 hours before kick off, to build a trellis for Mom.
Dad cut the wood, we got the drill.
"Did you remember to buy some 2" wood screws, Dad?"
We have to put a coat of primer on the galvanized fencing material, before we can paint it brown.
Not to shabby, if you don't look real close!
That should hold a sturdy vine. Mom will be very happy!
Stanzies got her game on! Let the PARTY GRAS begin!
This is a special shout out to our friends, Ron, Emily and their Airedale Sophie in New Orleans! GO SAINTS GO!

Airedale Proof

We decide to plant Lettuce and Spinach today. Hey, a dogs' gotta eat!
What's with the little barricades? Some kind of Airedale proofing? This does not look like much of a digging deterrent to me.
I don't know who chewed through this night lighting wire. Let me help you fix it.
I thought you said we could go for a ride back to the garage. Hurry up!
One spin through my rickety little dog circus before we go into the house.

It's not my job...

Dad cut up all this firewood. The wood is at the bottom of the hill, but the fireplace is at the top of the hill.

Dad tries to convince me, that carrying the wood up the hill for him, is a fun fetching game!  I fall for it, (One Time).
I'M OUTTA HERE!
That's thirsty work.
I'll just hang with the goldfish. They are less manipulative!

Meet The Neighbors

So much to do and it's only January!

Today I help move some Daylilies around.

Everybody is pruning, so I do a little unauthorized pruning on this Japanese Maple. Mom has to fix it with some corrective pruning. Now I have been asked to only prune the sticks that are on the ground.
I become bored with these new pruning rules, so I go to visit the neighbors.
This is "Annie". She has a crush on me.
This is my neighbor, 2 houses down the road. His name is "Buck"
I think his name should be "Tex", because the spot on his head looks like the state of Texas.

This is my pal "Duke". Sometimes I growl at him, because he is 120 lbs. and seems scary.
Mom has fluffed up the garden soil while I was gone. I see why they are called garden beds.
Hey Mom! Could you bring me the Tempurpedic pillow, this rock isn't working for me!

This tarp's for you!

So, I think we can take down this flag. C'mon it's 50 degrees!

Let's get some pretty branches to take in the house. Here's a nice Witch Hazel.

Can I just chew on it for a few minutes first?

How about these Magnolia branches? Do you want one of these for the vase too?

Look Mom! The tulips are up!

Now off to help Dad with Man's work. Here's the tarp you wanted.

I'm running as fast as I can. Keep your shorts on!

We put yard debris on it and then I help Dad pull the load to the compost pile.

Here's the hard part. We have to pull it through the gate and it's really full and heavy.

Dad says "No! Pull to the right". I'm like, "Your right or my right". Super confusing, Dad.

You need to work on giving better direction!

Happy Digging!

What's Up!

This morning we tour the garden to see what's up.
Hey, the banana tree has a sprout up top! Pretty crazy for January. I guess it likes this 50 degree weather.

...and what do I spy, with my Airedale eyes.

It's the garlic that I planted with mom last fall. Actually she planted it and I tried to dig it up early. Now I will sit on the garlic. It makes my mouth water, thinking about all the yummy produce we are going to have!
