Things that go "Who-Who" in the night....

We go outside after dark a lot.
I have to go pee at bedtime, 3 am and again at 5:30 am.
I need to take my family with me, because I'm on leash restrictions for now (and I need back up, cuz it's scary out there).

Stanzie is a night owl too.
She is on leash restrictions ALWAYS after dark, because she likes to "mix it up" with the wildlife.

Dad took this picture, on one of our night pees.

The woods around us are full of night time activity.
Things rustle and go bump in the night. Spider webs brush your face at every turn.
Dad took this picture too.

But, by far the biggest night time ruckus around our place, comes from this fellow!

Great Horned Owl Bubo virginianus
The Great Horned Owl is the most commonly encountered owl in Oregon. It is a large, stocky, powerful owl with large yellow eyes and distinctive feather tufts or "ears" above the eyes. Plumage color varies from dark brown in western Oregon to pale grayish brown in southeastern Oregon. The throat is white.

A few nights ago, we interrupted Mr. Owl taking down a wild rabbit in our back lawn.
He left the rabbit and flew away. Dad was going to bury the rabbit the next day. But, in the morning the rabbit was gone. Guess Mr. Owl came back to collect his snack.

Oh...and we have bats too.

We don't need any Halloween Decor.
We're good,

Wyatt and Stanzie
