The 60's are alive.

Would you open your door to these people?

This woman did!!

And she let in these other people too!

To sit in the middle of a corn field, dressed in 60's clothes.

The fire was started.....

And the Annual Paella was prepared. A spicy blend of peppers, chorizo, chicken, rice, mussels, clams, chicken stock, saffron and a few other goodies.
The hungry crowd gathered....

Coco waited and watched over the preparation.

PEACE, LOVE and PAELLA!

I'm an Adult Now

One of the many presents I received on my 5th birthday, was a nice brown box from Chewy.com
The FedEx man just chucked it over the fence to me...good fella, that FedEx man!

Inside the box was some Orijen 'Adult Dog' freeze-dried food.
(mom says, "Now that I am 5,  I should act like an adult dog.")

It's not just any freeze-dried food, but biologically appropriate freeze dried food  :D
Made from Chicken, Turkey, Wild Fish and Eggs.

Stanzie approves of the chip sized wafers.
The wafers are to be re-hydrated in a 1/4 cup of water for 5 minutes.
That is our only complaint.....we do not want to wait for 5 minutes...we want them NOW!

Mom stuffs ORIJEN pieces into my new Kong Wobbler.
It took me half a day, to figure out how to get the treats out of that crazy gadget!

In summation, Orijen Freeze Dried Food is delicious and would be handy for traveling.

The Kong Wobbler is frustrating and I just want to chew the top off to get to the treats....I have mastered the rolling and pushing action to get the treats to fall out...but all I can bark is: "TOO MUCH WORK for such LITTLE PAYOFF!"

As an Adult Dog, I say "More food-Less work"

Mom's Robe

My mom has been so busy lately.
She is not paying enough attention to me and it makes me sad.
When I feel sad, I go pull her robe out of the closet.

I nibble it for awhile and then I just lay my head down and go to sleep.

Maybe tomorrow she will have time for me...

The next thing...Barn Hunt!

Hi! Wyatt's Mom here today...

If you are like us, you have probably dabbled in many dog activities.
Obedience training, agility, tracking.....

Have you tried BARN HUNT?

We witnessed our first Barn Hunt trial, this weekend in St. Helens, Oregon.
What a joy to see all breeds of dogs, from little Papillons to Great Danes having such a good time finding a rat.

There are different levels of trial:
Instinct, Novice, Open, Senior and Master.

Instinct Level starts with finding the live rat in the tube and the more advanced titles include finding multiple rats on different levels of hay bales and gaining additional points for climbing a hay bale and going through a tunnel of hay bales. Depending on the level, the dog has between 1 - 2 1/2  minutes to complete the task.

No rats are harmed. They are in a protective ventilated tube and are rotated out after every 5 dogs.

12 year old Ripley is a seasoned "Ratter" and performed her task well.

The dogs really had a wonderful time looking for the rat.
No surprise to us, that the terriers had the right attitude for the sport, but what a fun surprise to see other breeds that one would not think of as "vermin hunters" doing a great job and having such a good time.

...And if seeing the dogs having so much fun wasn't enough, there were ribbons too!

Wyatt and Stanzie say, "SIGN US UP PLEEZE PLEEZE PLEEZE"!

How I spent my Birthday!

First, I want to thank everyone and everypup, for all the birthday greetings over the last few days! I feel all warm and fuzzy and loved :D

I woke up early and picked berries with my mom. I got excited and jumped on mom and she spilled all the berries. Then, we got to pick MORE berries..Yeah!

Mom made berry waffles for everybody and every doggy. Mom's plate is the one with turkey bacon...how come Stanzie and I didn't get turkey bacon?

I guess the store was out of bags that said "Happy Birthday to Wyatt"...but we all know who "YOU" is!

I got a very special present from my litter brother 'Lupe'. He picked out the best wrapping paper, card and gift. I can't wait to gobble down my paw treat..yum yum! Happy 5th Birthday to you too, LUPE!!

Then, the Fed Ex man threw a box for me over the gate. It was from Chewy.com. How did they know it was my birthday? We will be reviewing this food next week :D
It's been a super birthday! I have to go play with my new toys now.

Wyatt

We went exploring too...come back tomorrow and see where!
