We left Oregon with the threat of an incoming snow storm and freezing rain.
We made it as far as Pendleton, Or. to discover Hwy I-84 was closed and had to chill our paws at the truck stop for a couple of hours until the highway reopened.
We arrived for our first night in Boise, Idaho.
We had a nice dinner with Auntie Mary and family and sniffed around town a bit.
Then, we drove down to Moab, Utah and made ourselves at home in an AirBnB.
Ronald's place was cozy and perfect, close to the park and town.
We sniffed around Moab a bit and then back on the road again.
We had not planned to stop at Mesa Verde, Colorado...but we are glad that we took the time!
The rangers are friendly and even though us dogs could not go on the paths, we saw some great sites, like the Spruce Tree House were ancestral Pueblo people lived from 550 AD for 700 years!
We finally made our destination, Santa Fe.
One of our first stops, was the Santa Fe Railyard.
The sight of the farmers/artisans market.
Guess who we met there.....
We had a lovely afternoon visiting and swapping stories.
Even though we have never met in the furs before, it was like we had known each other for years!
We stopped for a bite at the Cowgirl BBQ !!
Then, shopped our way back to our AirBnB.
Happy Trails,
Stay tuned for Part 2 and the journey home!
