And yes...we were there!
What did we learn, you ask...
It's going to rain this winter in Oregon and it is going to snow in the higher elevations. Duh
Let's check with this Wooly caterpillar. They sport the Airedale color scheme, so they must know something.
Let's see....short brown stripe, means colder than average winter.
Thanks, Mr. Wooly Bear Caterpillar! You could have saved mom and dad about 3 hours of weather graphs and geek talk.
So, I need another blanket in my Dogloo house.
Get your own blanket, Stanzie!
Oh yah, this IS your blanket.
Get your raincoats out, Oregon Doggies! It's going to be a wet one!
Wyatt the Weather Dog
Oregon is always wet - right? We all wish we were weather 'people' they never get in trouble if they make a mistake @ work!
ReplyDeleteWinter is my favorite!

Blimmey, you take your weather forcast seriously, we get about 3 mins at the end of the news and they still get it wrong, I think that caterpillar knows more about it. Hope you two get that blanket sorted out!!
ReplyDeleteSee Yea George xxx
Oh, I haven't seen a wooly caterpillar in like 200 years!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, around here, we just poke our noses out the door to find out what the weather's gonna be. If we don't like it, we wait five minutes and try again. Often as not, it's different than the first time :)
ReplyDeleteHope you ad Stanzie get the blanket thing sorted out.
The Road Dogs
Well you recall the Cicada that I posted about.. He predicted that it was supposed to FROST here by Sept. 15... and guess what??? We just got our Furst frost... this morning.
ReplyDeleteI will try to get a shot of My Woolly Bears.. Mine have really little black heads and butts and LONG brown middles this year.
I HOPE those guys are a lot closer to correct than the Cicada was.
Keep us posted as to how yours do.
Wyatt isn't that silly the peoples go to a meeting to hear the weather? It looks like you guys were having much more fun playing in the yard and a CAT a pillar?
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Yuck, I would rather have snow than rain, but that's just me. Does that caterpillar make predictions for the midwest, too?
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
We're glad you are getting prepared. Sounds like you might need your favourite blue tarp as well.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
We saw one of those 'dale worms on our walk this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteMom and I subskhribe to the Weather Sibe skhhol - if the Sibe is wet, it is raining -

Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
That Caterpillar is amazing!
ReplyDeleteGlad he told you so you can be prepared for the rainy days!
Happy Saturday!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
We are hoping for lots of snow this winter - we better go find one of those wooly guys here.
ReplyDeleteWoos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
We have a weather stick...hasn't been wrong yet! Cute caterpillar...hope he gets inside before the rain...wonder what jersey will be like... Hoke loves the snow!
ReplyDeleteWe've been seeing lots of wooly caterpillars on our walkies. We better start paying attention to their stripes!
ReplyDeleteWe have an award for you and Stanzie! Stop by our blog when you get a chance, Wyatt.
Love ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
Wyatt, you are wise to listen to the wool bugs. And that blanket looks big enough for you and Stanzie to share and conserve body heat!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom's a weather nut too. She luvs hurrican season. What a lunatic huh?
ReplyDeleteWell she also just luvs woolly caterpillars. As a matter of fact she claims they are her absolute favorites! Who would of thunk it? When I showed her your post today Wyatt, she got the most wonderful big smile on her face. My Mom...such a silly.
I really enjoyed your post too Wyatt. Good goin on 'borrowing' Stanzie's blanket BOL :)
Waggin at your soon to be soggy selves,
Roo
We have seen quite a few Wooly Bear Caterpillars this year. One was ALL black, one was ALL orange. The rest were normal. Wonder what that means? Maybe they have been watching the news and are just as confused as the weatherman!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Emma ROse
Its a good thing we don't live in Oregon! We like our dry winters here in LA :)
