What to do with all these wet leaves?
I know!
I will make a nice blanket for my Banana Tree.
I will put a wire cage around it.
Then stuff all the leaves in there.
Just like a down comforter for my tree.
(Do you have any plants that need winter blankets?)
Sleep well Banana Tree, see you in the spring!
Wyatt
oh wyatt what a great idea, I wonder if my lime tree would like a blanket for the winter :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom loads hers up in the wheelbarrow and moves it inside when it starts getting cold in the fall.
ReplyDeletedid you know that banana trees like to 'walk'. There are many many banana trees back in my Mom's home of Australia and on the plantation bananas move themselves a couple of inches each year looking for food and water in the soil. And did you know they call the side shoots "pups". They also love being watered from the top and back home many people plant them under a gutter down pipe
ReplyDeleteAwww your banana tree looks so nice and cozy!!!! What a good job you did Wyatt! <3
ReplyDeleteWyatt, you REALLY ought to have your own show on HGTV! I used to use my leaves in my cold frame/compost/volunteer garden. Great composting material!

Excellent work, Wyatt. I don't have to make a down comforter for a tree but I will have to make a thick blanket for the vegetable garden pretty soon. If only the dogs would dig on command, they could dig up lots of compost from the chicken run.
ReplyDeleteWyatt, you are such a good boy. I surely could use you around here!!! WE have hundreds of strawberries to put in the ground and cover up!!
ReplyDeletexx, Fern
Wow you really helped out that banana tree there Wyatt. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed! You've done a good job. And the idea is great!

Wyatt....we lives in FLORIDA and can't even keep a bandana tree alive over da winter....and it doesn't even get dat cold here. Daddy gave up tryin' to grow one because every winter it went to Rainbow Bridge. Do you get any bandanas from your tree?
ReplyDeleteWe know your banana tree is thanking you, Wyatt!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots

Blimey Wyatt, we didn't even know some trees needed blankets. No wonder nothing seems to grow for poor mum. We try to help all we can. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Thanks for stopping by to wish me a Happy Day! :) Together we raised over $50 for my shelter. Wahoo!
Hey! That is awesome. I hear that the leaves will generate heat all winter and keep the tree roots nice and toasty.
