Lazy Daisy Shabby Chic Sandwich

How I spent the weekend.
...being lazy in the daisies.

Shopping for shabby, chic and the unique.

Sourcing ingredients for the perfect Banh Mi Sandwich.

Cilantro, jalapeno, pickled carrots, pickled dakon radish
AND

spicy grilled pork on a fresh baguette.
Not sure why the folks are trying to make this, when all the Vietnamese sandwich shops in Portland sell this culinary delight for 3 dollars!

Happy Lazy Daisy Daze

  1. Oh Wyatt, that was a good weekend. Gail says the sandwich sounds yummy but given there are no Vietnamese shops in Aberdeen, she will have to source her own materials for sure. And we are not sure if pickled dakon radish is available (or, to be honest, what exactly it is, other than some sort of radish, obviously, we're not that stupid you know).

  2. We were a bit worried until you got to the pork! Now they can make sandwiches and not have to drive anywhere.

there is a certain something added to the taste when made for oneself, Wyatt... Do you not like to 'season' your own bones, for example... assuming of course you GET fresh knuckles to gnaw..... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  18. I know the good spots in San Francisco for a Banh Mi. But now, Wyatt, you've inspired me to find 'the place' here in Portland!
