The long road to Spring

Here in the Northwest, we are setting records for rainfall.
Soggy Seattle has broken the record with 44.7 inches of rain between October and April.
Portland is inching closer to smashing it's own record. We have 45.5 inches in the same time frame.
Poor Astoria, Or., 84.52 inches and 167 days of rain since Oct 1st!
Thanks for the laugh, Gert 😊

Surprisingly, Spring comes anyway.

Everywhere we look, we see pink and purple and yellow.

....And the green, tasty grass of spring!
But, we want to know, "Why have we been fenced out of the garden?"
"Don't you love us anymore?"

We can say it does make everything nice and green
and makes the flowers bloom. Sorry you are fenced out

  4. Gosh, what goes around comes around - it has been unusually dry here in Scotland for the past few months.
But still, we like the 'umbrellas are for amateurs' sign. reminds Gail of a colleague who lived half a mile down a farm track in the snowy hills inland form Aberdeen, who drove a wee compact and used to say "4 wheel drives are for wimps'.

PS I don't approve of that fence.

  7. I think my humans are plotting to fence off the muddy parts of the yard. I don't know what their problem is. Getting my feet muddy doesn't bother me a bit.

  8. We know you get way more rain that we do, but we have had more than our share lately. Mom is hoping they are right about this weekend being dry. Dad is in charge while she is away, and he doesn't do well with mud:(

  10. Fenced out of the garden? We can't believe it! Who is going to chase rabbits and squirrels away from your plants? You'll have a desert soon--despite all that rain.

    Your flowers are beautiful.

  11. What great splashes of color!!!! I don't understand why you two are fenced out, though. Where's the respect?
    Yours sincerely,
