Central Oregon is beautiful this time of year.
The snow has started to fall in the higher elevations.
We checked into a dog friendly AirBnB in Sun River.
We made ourselves right at home.
We invited friends over for wine and dog petting.
The next day we hiked to upper Tumilo Falls.
The path was slippery packed snow and our people fell down a lot. BOL!
But, Tegan and I pulled them up to the top of the trail.
It was sure pretty up there.
Smile! We made it to the top!
I celebrated by making a snow angel.
On the way home, we stopped in Redmond at the Petersen Rock Garden.
A Danish fellow, Rasmus Petersen, built all these rock castles, churches and little houses all over his farm between 1935-1952.
We like a quirky roadside attraction and dad is a quirky Dane!
Even though the place is in disrepair, we had to admire the dedication and craftsmanship.
All the rocks were gathered in an 85 mile radius of the farm.
Some of the sculptures are quite large 4'-5' tall, built up on 4' mounds of rock.
Some structures are the size of a dollhouse.
Happy Trails,
♥♥

ReplyDeleteOMD what a wonderfurs trip you had... to be able to visit and enjoy snow rather than have it visit and overstay its welcome with you is much the best option! ...and am partial to the odd roadside attraction myself. Those 'wee hoosies' would have me stopping too! hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
