Boxing and Boxes!

 Yesterday was Boxing Day!!

In the UK it is a day to spend with your family and eat up all the Christmas leftovers....we think your boss is supposed to give you a gift too?

For us, boxing day is every Monday, Wednesday and sometimes Thursday.

Evelyn and Mom go to the gym and hit stuff for an hour to loud music.

The other days of the week, they put some oven mitts on dad and they hit dad....BOL!

I guess we should save our biscuit money and buy dad a pair of punch mitts, so he can defend himself like this fella!

The Christmas boxes and stockings are gone.

We have been happily playing with our new things and enjoying our snacks.

Tegan spends hours pulling gingerbread men and candy canes out of the new toys.

She hasn't been very good about sharing, but I do play with them when she is outside!

Oh!! Christmas Tree!!

Here is what we have been up to this month....

We spied the perfect tree.

It took 4 people to get it in the truck.

Dad and Mom got it through the door, butt first.....BUT, that put it on the wrong side of the room.

They didn't have the strength to stand it up, so they tied a rope to the top of the tree and pulled it up to the truss. It was like this for 4 days!!

What kind of whacky doodle Christmas is this?!?

They finally called for some help and the tree got stood up and to the correct side of the room...BOL!

We helped decorate!

We put up all of our favorite ornaments....

notice the lack of Lakie ornaments...heehee.

A Walla Walla Weekend

We got the "warm fuzzy" part down pat!

We rented a lovely home, with a big back yard.

Walla Walla is VERY dog friendly. 

We were allowed in all the stores downtown and got some of our Christmas shopping done!

We admired the Blue Spruce of the region,

  

We visited a few wineries.

The good people at Dunham Cellars like dogs!

The folks ate a lot of decadent things.

Which means more dog walks for us next week!!

 (does salad justify a maple-bacon bar?)😄

Grandma Evelyn kicked our ass at Monopoly.

This Lakie had to mortgage every last dog house, because Grandma controlled all the railroads and utilities and when she started building sub-divisions, it was no match for our 3 measly hotels on Vermont Ave....BOL!

Walla Walla is a great place to kick off the holiday season!!

Rainy Day Pumpkin Fun!

Having some fun with our Aire-Buddy, Reilly!

Mom says:

Does this Airedale make my butt look fat?

Sunday, we colored some home grown pumpkins.

Where are the terrier pumpkins?

Where is OUR cooked squash?

Grandma Evelyn made an owl, Mom made a house, Dad made a sugar skull.

The carved and the cooked pumpkins will be happening in a couple of weeks!

Mom has a new little toy truck at work.

The tires are the size of a wheelbarrow's tire and the steering wheel is on the right....she loves it!

Hello, Tegan here! 

I've been practicing my spells.

I tried to turn my brother into a frog....but instead he grew horns!

Where's my broom? 

Just a quick trip to the store for some ingredients for my cauldron.

The tomatoes keep producing.

The kitchen continues to be under siege

We have been helping Grandma unpack some of her things

Tegan ate 4 pieces from the last puzzle.

We made a spooky tree.

Too Early?

Not for Our Dad!

I broke another tooth (vertical to the gum line!) and had to have it yanked at the clinic.

I'm doing just fine and I will be back at the squirrel tree soon.

Mom says I need to find a new way to talk to the squirrels. Attacking the tree isn't really working for me and it's not working for mom either!

Enjoying the last days of Summer!

How we spent Labor Day on Starview Lane!

A few of our neighbors can swing a mean croquet mallet...Bwahahaha!

A low country boil was on the menu.

 

Seems like everybody on the block is named 'Susan'

We have a Sue, Susan, Susie and Suz.

That's how we keep em' all straight!

The tomatoes are coming on strong. Tegan eats the cantaloupes and the neighbor cows eat the giant zucchini!
