Security by Wyatt

Do you ever wonder what to do with all those musical greeting cards?
If you are like us, you just hate to throw them out!
So today, Wyatt will demonstrate how to re-purpose those old musical cards, into your very own, low cost security system.
First, tape the cards to the inside of the door hinge, like this...
That was easy!
Then, go outside and pretend that you are a burglar, trying to break in.

Guaranteed to scare away any would be intruders!!

More paint PLEEZE!

Here I am at Home Depot, trying to buy some more paint!
Hellooooooo back there! I need some more of that 'Winchester Gray' paint please!!
Where are those associates in the orange aprons?
I found somebody that can help us. His chainsaw is freakin' me out.....just a little bit.
I hope he knows how to mix paint..

DIY project with Wyatt

Between harvesting tomatoes and cooking tomatoes, I'm helping Mom and Dad paint the deck railings!
Mom scrubbed them really hard, with some stinky cleaner to get off all the moss and stuff.
Now, we are using these little rollers and brushes to apply the lovely shade of 'Winchester Grey'
I'm helping!

Lunch time!!
Are we having something with tomatoes?

Wyatt's Way

Every couple of days now, we harvest around 70 lbs of tomatoes...
Stanzie says, "Bark Bark!!" " Who planted all those tomatoes?"
(Pleeze send your tomato recipes!! E-mail address below )
Dad is busy making roasted tomato soup.
He cuts 4 pounds of tomatoes in quarters, puts them on a roasting pan with 12 cloves of peeled garlic, 1/4 cup of EVOO (olive oil), 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Then he roasts it in the 500 degree oven for 35 minutes. Meanwhile in a large saucepan, he puts 1/4 cup EVOO, 1 chopped yellow onion and some salt and cooks for 8-10 minutes until the onions are soft. He adds 2 cups of basil leaves and cooks for one more minute. When the tomatoes are slightly cooled from the oven, he adds them to the onion in the saucepan with 2 cups of cold water and cooks for 10 minutes. Add more salt and pepper to taste. Then he purees the tomato mixture in a blender, starting on a slow speed until the mixture is smooth.
This makes 8 cups of the best tomato soup you will ever have!
We freeze it in Tupperware and enjoy it with grilled cheese sandwiches in the winter!
I steal help myself, to at least one tomato per day...
I take it under the Pieris bush, where I keep all my treasures.
What? You have never seen a dog eat a whole tomato?
We also grew these little melons, 'Minnesota Midgets'
They are just getting ripe now.
I give them 2 paws up!

Happy Harvest!
Wyatt

Making Salsa with Wyatt!

Hey dogs and cats, moms and dads!
Let's make Salsa!!
I've got some tomatoes and peppers and onions!
oh no...my mom wants me to wear a sombrero...
I don't want to wear a sombrero!
I'm going to hide back here.
Okay, I chewed the rim off.
I guess I can wear it around my neck.
Now, comes the fun part!
We peel and seed and chop.
We make the kitchen a pulpy mess!
OLE! For Salsa!!
