X-treme Gardens!!

As a dog, I prefer more of a natural garden. Mom has her garden knick knacks about. But when it comes to garden gnomes and pink flamingos, Dad has a saying "Less is More."
But, we do applaud those who have a sense of humor and the checkbook to take their gardening vision to the extreme. Any landscape that can make you slam on the brakes and have a reaction of some sort, is worthy in our book.  Here is a place that we spotted yesterday in the car.
Dozens and dozens of  life sized carved critters!
Stanzie was beside herself! An Airedale's dream...Deer, Racoons, Bears, Eagles, Coyotes, Cows, Skunks and Squirrels!
We both felt the need to get out of the car in a big way!
This made Mom want to dig out some photos of other extreme gardens she has seen recently. We wonder how long it takes to grow back a body part, if you slip up with the hedge trimmers??
Here's a front courtyard we strolled by one time. There was a small water feature with lots of Barbie and Ken dolls. Looks like some wild spring break party in their front yard!

Well, back to work in my garden, where today, I'm keeping it real!
Happy Digging!

Orange you glad for ASPCA!

Maggie and Mitch told us about the ASPCA photo contest and awareness campaign. So we started looking around for orange in the garden! Mom found some goofy gardening hats in the closet and away we go!
My sister Stanzie is a good model. Even though she is not fond of the camera, she sits pretty and calm for her photo shoots.
Give us a pretty smile......remember it's for a good cause, the ASPCA!
Here's me 'Wyatt'. I'm more unruly and it takes more attempts to get me to sit handsome for my photo shoot.
"Hey! Is this a girls hat???"
I'm gonna need a Margarita when this is over!
Well, we need more orange. So... pull out the big guns and lets go for the bandanas!
Nice one Stanzie.....but are you feeling the joy??
Say Cheese! Can I please take this dopey hat off now?
I wish I could say that we are through with the orange.....Mom just spotted some orange fire hydrants down the street. Oh No!

Back to School!

Yeah! Next month I'm going back to agility class! I've been taking a few months off, due to a pulled groin muscle. Seems like I did a little 'Airedale Freestyle' on the DogWalk apparatus. The vet said I could go back to class, as long as I take it easy. Gotta keep all 4 on the floor. No jumping or climbing for awhile. So that leaves tunnel practice and maybe some weave poles. Teacher "Patty"  is going to try and sneek in some obedience too. Not sure why we would need to go there....
Mom set this up for me today, so we could play!
I can't wait to go back to school. I get so excited when we drive to the big horse barn, where the classes are held. Teacher calls me "Doodle Bug". That makes me really happy and I just spin and scoot butt in all directions. What I lack in talent, I make up for in enthusiasm!

Sunshine and Lilacs

Today we are just taking it easy.
I un-earthed one of my favorite toys that Stanzie had buried. Mom calls this toy 'Dope on a Rope'. I think she is referring to me as the 'Dope'.  HEY!
We have not seen much of the sun this week, so today we take time to stop and smell the Lilacs.
This plant is "Golden Hops". We have it planted all along our lower fenceline. It's pretty and it comes back every year.
Dad likes hops in his beer. I think it is pretty tasty straight from the vine.....the deer think so too!
Mom is tired today and wants to go in the house. I grab her sweatshirt and try to drag her back outside.
I don't think we should be in the house today.

Basket Case

What's this I hear about a rabbit that comes to your house and leaves eggs today?  I have been looking and looking......
I'm looking so hard. In all the good hiding places.
I found a little green frog...maybe that is what the bunny left for me!
I bet Stanzie chased the Easter Bunny away!  I'm gonna have a chat with her!
Stanzie gives me a little kiss (she really just wants my toy and is trying to catch me off guard, but we will go with the kiss concept.)
So Mom and Dad are off to do Easter things with Grandma and have dinner at Grandma's house. We have not been invited! Can you believe that! Grandma has 4 Pomeranians and a West Highland Terrier.  She did not feel that adding 2 Airedales to the mix, would make the day more festive.
This is 'Tippy', 'Bella' and their puppy 'Samantha'.
We love them and would like to go to the party. They are like 4 lb. squeeky toys!
PLEASE TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm piling on the drama and the guilt as best I can.
Happy Easter!

Sponge Dog, Square Tail

A little rain doesn't slow us down. It just makes it easier to dig! The problem is, that when we are done digging, we want to come in the house.
I don't think we own enough towels to fix this mess!
Mom made coffee cake, while Stanzie and I were out doing our Airedale gardening.
It smells soooo.. good!  Mom does not want to share the coffee cake with the dales. The oven is still warm, so she gets out the doggie cookbook. What a great rainy day activity!
Yeah! We are going to make Parmesan Pleasers! MY FAVORITE!
HA HA.........
Mom makes Airedale shapes and bone shapes. I don't care what shapes, just hurry up!
Now they have to cool...........I'm a very impatient Airedale!
Are they ready yet? They sure smell good!
Mom gives a couple to my muddy sister.  I'm not sure she really deserves any cookies!
Wow, they are dwindling fast!  Let's not give any more to Stanzie, more for me!
Happy Digging! (and keep a stack of towels handy)

Almost a Spa Day

Oh, my editor has gone silly with the cut and paste. We all know, that an Airedale would never sit still for this foolishness!
We made an appointment for our beauty makeovers today.

Miss Constanza, would like to offer up a few of her own beauty tips for the Dales.
Good dental hygiene is alway important, for keeping those canines pearly white.
I love to have my teeth brushed and get really excited when the toothpaste comes out!
Don't forget the chompers in the back. No tarter build up here!
Mmmmm, Tastes like chicken.
Happy Digging,
Wyatt
