The new buzz phrase around our house is 're-purposing'.
It's when you find some junk and make it into some other kind of junk.
Sort of 'Shabby Chic Recycling'.
For us, it's always been a lifestyle, but now it is hip!
We like to look for architectural salvage that can be used in the garden.
This is a wood vent, that we are going to put a back on, fill with potting soil, Sedums and trailing plants and make a living wall on the garage.
This section of picket, has had a full life.
It makes a lovely dog backdrop.
Dad's latest project is some old window panes. He bought some new glass for them and will put a photo behind it.
Mom was thinking a picture of a tree.
Dad was thinking a landscape photo.
I was thinking a picture of ME!
Don't you think a big Airedale face would be nice?
Mom says, "NO!" She already sees that view out of every window!
Do you have any re-purposed stuff?
Wyatt
Wyatt,
ReplyDeleteMy mom and dad aren't creative enough to repurpose however we are very' green' in many ways. Good topic for Earth day.
We like your idea of a picture of you!
Hey Wyatt!
ReplyDeleteWow, I think a pix of a Wyatt sitting next to a shrub underneath a tree would be just the ticket! Dad re-purposes valuable items alot and Mom calls them junk alot. I try to stay out of it...ahem.
Grr and a Salvaged Woof,
Sarge, COP
We vote for the Airedale Picture. Isn't it nice to know you are trend setters!!!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, kendra & Bella
Our Mom can see a repurpose for anything!! So she's very impressed.

Oh, we love reusing cool stuff! Mom is actually working on her "creative space" upstairs and is using a lot of stuff like that!
ReplyDeleteBunny

You are such a poster Wyatt- and how does your mom get you in all of these great poses??? You seem to always be in the right seat, window- pose POSEEEEEEEEEEEE.
ReplyDeleteWe love you.
Miss Maisy
Lord Argyle and there human
I have read articles on kids who grew up with parents who would re-purpose things and the kids would be picked on at school. Now it's the cool thing to do. I knew Wyatt would lead the pack
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ideas!! We like the picture of you Wyatt!! Lots of love, Holly and mom
ReplyDeleteHi Wyatt, It's ME (FRANKIE FURTER) using Sarge's YapStop. The only thingy better than YOU in the frame... would be YOU and STANZIE BOTH. hehehe
ReplyDeleteI just Re-purposed on of Sarge's bestest Bones... so does that count???
I ussed to do a lot of repurposing, but Now that I am getting ready to live on the road I don't bring anything home!
ReplyDeleteI vote for you in that window frame, Wyatt! There's room for Stanzie, too!
Wyatt, you are just so beautifully photogenic! I really like the first one behind that window, very artistic!
ReplyDeleteWyatt. Moma LOVES repurposing! Her most recent is an oak papertowel holder that OurGrampaWhoWeNeverMet made for her a gazillion years ago. It no longer holds paper towels (she doesn't use 'em much ... they're hard to repurpose), so now it holds all her bangle bracelets. Makes her smile everytime she sees it ... which is always a promising attitude for us. Personally, we were hoping it might hold rope toys, or something, but we're happy enough with the treats that we get when things make her smile.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is going well. It looks like your garden is greening up!
xx

What a neat idea for that wood vent - we can't wait to see how it works out. And yes, we think you look much better in that picture than trees and landscapes - humans make no sense - why do they always want to take our pic if they don't want to frame them? BOL
ReplyDeleteWoos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
My mom person tries & my dad person sometimes says OK & sometimes he says it's garbage! Your things are very nice!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
We like that picture frame and we think it would be nice with you in the landscape picture.
ReplyDeleteMy mum picked up an old dressing table mirror from the roadside one night - she said it for her mosaics.....only she would love to hang it behind some creeping vines in the garden! Dad won't let her.....he's such a spoilsport sometimes!! I personally think the white frame is built for a vision of Wyatt or Stanzie!! Tail Wuggles, Rubie.
ReplyDeleteOur whole house is filled with repurposed stuff! It's fun!
ReplyDeletePS: I'd take a big picture of you!
Sometimes I tink that Mom would likes to "re-purpose" me. I nose I would likes to "re-purpose" brudder Max (DaOdderWeenie). As for your "re-purposing", I tink you has to haves a foto of you's behind dat window! BOL
ReplyDeleteOh Wyatt, we love repurposing old stuff!! You should see My Uncle Eds, wifes garden, you would just LOVE it. Maybe I will see if I can get some pics fur you to see.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I like the landscape picture

Your pawrents are very imaginative peeps! Great pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have some great rebar used as a trellis for our clematis, but I always thought using an old window frame for pictures was the best. You'd look great in that frame, Wyatt!!
ReplyDeleteHello there Wyatt! What a great idea! We think a photo of you would look just pawfect!!!!Have fun! Ros and Oscar
ReplyDeleteMom usually goes to thrift stores to buy kids cloths and then fix them with her machine.
ReplyDeleteThere good ideas, you should start writing a book :)
ReplyDeleteI like you in the frame best, or Stanzie even better ;)
Have a good week
See Yea George, pass on some love and hugs to my girl will yea Wyatt xxx
Wyatt, maybe you guys should have a TV show on HGTV. That is what I'm thinking. You would be the perfect star!
ReplyDeleteI think the picture of you would be so nice!!! Maybe you can sneak into the tree picture of the landscape one. We don't use reclaimed things just yet but have been looking for a coffee table:) Tough to find when you want to.
ReplyDeleteMy mom loves the idea of re-purposing, but between you and me, her projects never quite turn out the way she plans!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
