Once upon a time, there was a pink tree that lived with our Grandma.
She was told it was a dwarf tree and planted it in her tiny front yard.
I grew really, really fast and Grandma could tell that it was not really a dwarf tree.
So, she sent to it live with us.
We transplanted the tree below our deck about 12 years ago.
It's now about 30' tall and 30' wide!
"Hello Pink Tree!"
This year, it started blooming in January.....
It just about froze it's buds off in February.....
Here we are in April and it is still making pink!
"We love you, Pink Tree!"
Wyatt and Stanzie
So pretty! My boy John worked at a nursery last spring & got us 6 new trees last year, some of them already a very nice size. They might blossom if we ever get spring here!

It's a flowering cherry. We never knew the variety, since it was a hand-me-down.

What a very pretty pink tree! I wish we had a tree that made pink. Say Wyatt? Your pawrents are all garden smart and stuffs. At the garden center today, Mama saw something called a FRUIT SALAD TREE? It was supposed to grow four different kinds of fruit? Ummm...neato. Do these really grow a fruit salad, cause that would be SWEET!

There are a lot of Flowering Cherry Trees in my neighborhood and they are all blooming right now. They are so beautiful! Those and Japanese Maples are my favorite trees. I do wish the branches were closer to the ground so I could get a photo of Chester and Gretel surrounded by those beautiful pink blooms. Have a great weekend.

Thank you for visiting me with well wishes, I realy appreciate it. Hugs GJ xx
ReplyDeleteBesides loving pink ... we love those transplant stories. Just last week our UncleSteve took a big bush from our gramma's yard and transplanted it to his. We've got day lilies from Gramma and from Butchy, and they are welcomed each spring with thoughts of both. Our "neighbors" (where Moma used to live) have peonies from our great-gramma. Like we said ... those lucky plants that got new forever homes are the best, in our opinion.
ReplyDeleteAnd ... guess what?! As of today, all of our trees are sugar frosted ones! It's snowing!!!
Thinking pink,
Fergi and Jake
Yep! It's so awesome to see the sun again and all the beautiful flowers blooming!! That pink tree is just gorgeous!!!
