Sweet Peas and Pesto

Do you want to see what's happening in my garden today?
Here is a new crop of Radishes, that we just planted. There are some Sugar Snap Peas, we just planted on each side...good to plan ahead for fall crops!
Our first Tomato is getting ripe!  It's a little Cherry Tomato, my favorite!
We threw some Sweet Pea Seeds into the strawberry patch ages ago.
They are just blooming now and it is almost August. Just goes to show, how mild our summer has been.
There is silly Stanzie, laying in mom's sand pile.
We are going to the beach pretty soon and Stanzie is getting in the mood!
Tonight we are having Pesto, because we have lots of Basil and Garlic.
Mom and Dad love Pesto on everything...Crusty bread, Pasta and Pizza Dough.
And it is so easy....2 cups of basil, 3 garlic cloves, 1/2 cup of pine nuts in the food processor til mushed up, then add 1/2 cup shredded parmesan and 1/4 cup shredded romano cheese, mush up some more in the processor, then add 1/3 cup of olive oil.
Thanks Frankie Furter and Rocky Creek Scotty Dogs for your recipes.
We'll be trying them out this week!
Happy Digging!

Wyatt

  5. Pesto is a favorite, here, too. One good thing about dirtville....in season, we can buy pine nuts for next to nothing!

  6. My mom LOVES Pesto.. butt she can NEVER EVER find pine nuts in any store around here. She would be all green with jellyness if she knew you can make your own pesto.
    Your garden is just beautiful.
We picked a 5 gallon bucket of green peppers today. In the stores they are 3 @ $5.00 I kid you not! We also picked 2 heads of cabbage (don't you just love that core thingy?).

  8. Wow great post Wyatt!!! We can't believe you grow foodables at your house. They sure do look yummers! Momma has a garden but no foodables come out of it, just flowers! Maybe we can get her to plant a kibble tree! That pesto stuff sounds yummy!

    Lots of slobber,

  14. Your pesto recipe sounds so good..and easy. Our basil is growing out of control, but our flowers aren't doing so well. I wonder what we're doing wrong.

  26. Hi Wyatt,
my mom bought a Nikon D60 used on Ebay. She got it a little while after she got me because she said her little camera did not work very well with an active puppy. She likes it very much but says she still has a lot to learn.
