I'm growing these mini wally melons.
'Moon and Stars'
They have pretty polka dotty leaves and yellow spots on the fruit.
Everyday mom "thumps" them and I lick them.
How do you know when they are ripe?
We want wally melon!!
Wyatt and Stanzie
Oh, those look good. And even more so since they actually appear to grow in the PNW- I never have luck growing water melons (my watermelon plant is blooming for the first time right now- I think its a bit confused).
ReplyDeleteYummy see your melons ...
ReplyDeleteI must unfortunately I always buy because they do not grow in my garden.

ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We've never seen those. We're just getting ready to plant our little garden. SHE's rapt in the 'Guaranteed to Grow' bit.

Mitch and Molly
I guess you have will to sacrifice one and try it :)
ReplyDeleteHowdy Wyatt and Stanzie, they look cool and we've never heard of them either. Look forward to you telling us how they taste. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteOoooooo, I don't knows, butts when it is, I'll be right overs!!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
I hear licking them helps them grow. Green tongues and all that.
ReplyDeleteYours,
I love me some melon. Have not had that one, but I would be willing to take a bite out of it for you to see if they are ready.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Looks delicious. Always better when it comes straight from the garden.
ReplyDeleteI wish we have a garden too to plant veggies and fruits but mom can only plant greens in a pot.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect way to know when to pick is to have my mom decide it is ripe, then wait another week.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Pumpkins are about our limit here, along with cucumbers and tomatoes (to mart toes) :-) in my mum's greenhouse. but she has grown other things, orange trees for one from seed... Ah, the holidays she used to have :-) Don't get your paws too dirty, if you want diggin done, just call me. Luvs Freya Rose Blossom X .. I take it you have sandy soil ??????
ReplyDeleteYUM! Wally melon!!
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, that is a great idea! When I worked in environmental education, another City I worked with created a poop-toss game - poop shaped sandbags thrown into a trash can. The game was intended for kids but adults ended up liking it too. This would be another fun, educational game to try.
