Mom's Dad is a WWII and Korean War Vet in two different military branches. He never did much with Vets groups, but one year Mama was so proud to see him march with the Korean War Vets in the 4th of July parade before he passed away. No every year at the parade she gets tears in her eyes when she sees the remaining members of his group still in the parade.
It is always a good thing to honor those that served. Our Dad was a Commander in the Navy for 20 years and his Dad served in both the Army and the Navy. Mom's dad was in the Army and was one of the "Rats of Tobruk" and her Mom was a WAC.
Those memorials always make us sad when we start reading the names. Here we have so many WW1 as so many were lost and so young. Have a fabulous Friday. Best wishes Molly
It's always the names that get us, too. You can see war battle footage and stay distanced, but when you read the names and realise they were people with families who never had a future. It's so sad.
