Frogs and Taters

Stanzie says,
"Is that what we are having for dinner?...Yuck!"

No, silly Stanzie.
We are planting potatoes today.
We plant the seed potatoes with the eyes pointing up. Now we cover with loose dirt and a little bit of decomposing straw.

Somebody is watching us.....
We got the camera and he actually poked his head out...

And Smiled!

Everybody is a ham at our house :D

Wyatt

  1. Now off you go starting your garden way before us. It must be warming up there. We don't know from one day to the next, what kind of weather we will have.

I sure liked the frog who came out for a picture. Just another in the great "Wyatt Circle of Friends"

  10. AWwww, love that smiling froggie. There is a big push here on growing potatoes in big pots. Supposedly they are quite delicious. But Mom says soil in pots in the yard won't do well with our two resident diggers and ungardeners C and L.

Hope you have a great crop of taters.

  13. Maybe he's envisaging the bugs that will be attracted to growing potato plants.

Bella and Roxy nearly caught two frogs last night...but the climbed the wall quickly. They were tree frogs.

  14. Are you sure he isn't just scoping out where the potatoes are growing so he can tell his spud eating friends where the feast is hidden?

  15. Mom took pine needle mulch off her garden a few days ago and a froggie hopped out and guess what? He was the same exact color as the pine needles! He looked so strange, Wyatt!

    Love ya lots,

  18. What a brave froggie! My mum has fond memories of "finding" potatoes in the veggie garden, her dad is such a big gardener, and he still is, at 82 years old!!
