My Flexi

It's been pretty boring around here.
TAX TIME!

I'm helping mom look for some deductions....what IS a deduction?

Mom! I hear the UPS Man at the gate! Let's go see what we got!

Holy Whack-a Moley! It's a leash with my picture on it!
Do I have my own line of pet gear now?

Flexi sent me a personalized leash, from their My Flexi collection!
They have pre-designed leashes or you can design your own.

I have never had a Flexi-leash....Wheeeee!

First, we read all the instructions and safety precautions.
Airedales can build up speed and mom does not want to be water skiing behind an out of control dog.
We do like the flexi tape on this leash. It appears safer than the cord on some retractable leashes.

Stanzie gets the first turn.
Taking it slow....practicing around our fenced yard. Stanzie is digging the extra length.

MY TURN!
This leash makes a funny brake noise that gets my attention....like clicker training.
Everytime mom brakes the leash, I sit down...BOL!
Mom is smiling...could this last. (Next walk, we are bringing treats to reinforce my good behavior)

I'm not pulling at all, because I'm actually a little afraid of this new gizmo.
We might be onto something good here!

Thanks Flexi,
We will keep you posted with my walks and training on my new leash :D

Wyatt

  3. While I'm of the opinion that Flexi leashes can be incredibly dangerous (and have some x-rays of a dog's broken leg to prove it), I also believe that they are very, very badly misused by most of the public. Correctly used, I think the tape style flexi leads can be a great way to allow a dog some extra distance and exploring ability, in the same way as a long line would be used. The corded retractable leashes I find just plain dangerous.

  4. That looks very cool!
When I get tired of walking I stop in the middle of the street and demand that I be carried. Ha-wwoof!

  5. That is just the COOLEST thing!!! A leash with YOUR picture on it!!! WOWEE!!! A real celebrity!! We think it looks like you two could find the new leash helpful...especially if you sit down when your mom "brakes" the leash! BOL!! Mama doesn't use ours too often...we are not pullers, so we are good on our little flex leashes. We pretty much only use them when we are out on a hike at a campground or something, but not when there's other dogs around. Thanks for the review! Hope you guys have fun!

  7. Good luck with the flexi Wyatt. Just don't go and get it all tangled around a thistle. For some reason Gail stopped using mine and I pulled that stunt.

Oh and Gail has a wee technical question. She was advised that the tape ones don't unravel as smoothly as the cord ones, so she bought a cord one. So she is wondering how flexi you are finding your tape?

  8. That is pretty cool that you have a personalized leash Wyatt. nice of you to share it with Miss Stanzie too. We never saw such a leash. Our current flex leashes are waring out. Hootie's doesn't retract any longer so he has to borrow mine, which is more heavy duty and not as long as his was. Daddy is the one who walks us with them anyway. Mom uses short, heel leashes or our twinsy leash. So, where does one inquire about the Flexie?? Have a great week working on taxes. We will start with Mom & Daddy's this week too. UGH!!

  12. We have flexi leads but not ones with our picture on - that's is really cool! We only use them when we're out somewhere new in the countryside so we can can explore and our Mum doesn't worry we get lost. We don't run with them on though - they do take some getting used to - woofs and licks from Magic xx

  13. "Mom water skiing behind you" hhehhehhee. I've done that to my MOM. But it looks like that won't happen with your new leash.

  15. WYATT.... that is the coolest thingy EVER. I can't believe that you have your PICTURE on your flexi. Maybe they will become so PUPULAR that they will make a FULL LINE of Wyatt gear!!

  16. Cool having your own personalized flexi leash, Wyatt. Mom can't use flexis with us, something about too much back and forth nonsense from a couple of us and leashes getting all braided together.

And about that tax stuff - "taxes" is a bad word around here, no refunds for us, we guess.

  17. Ugh, don't remind me about the "T" word. Gotta get it done!

I like your flexi leash, Wyatt, especially since it has your picture on it! How cool is that?

  18. That's wonderful! Your pic just made it more pawsome.

  19. I didn't know there was a Flexi strong enough to withstand an Airedale. If Wyatt really does stop when he's supposed to, even if he sees a squirrel or another dog running in the park, then he's a Very Good Boy. Looking forward to the next installment of the story.

  20. Hi Y'all!

I'll be watchin' y'all train. I used to have a Flexi for going out to potty 'til my Human trusted me off lead.

Funny thing is that the times I pulled my Human down or knocked her over I was on a regular training lead. But I weigh in at 100 lbs so I sure my Humans are happy I don't need a lead, unless we're someplace they are required by law or we're traveling.

    Y'all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  21. That is pretty neat. The tall guy uses a flexi-leash too. It makes it easier on him when I want to stop and smell all the smells when we're out on a walk!

  22. Wowza that looks heaps cool, especially with your name on it. Hope it means you get to go on even more walks. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  24. The WDA has a couple of those Flexi leashes and dad loves them as much as we do! But ours are not so super duper fancy to have our custom photo on it! Yours is VERY neat!

  25. Wow - we are loving you all over your lead!!! How gorgeous...does Stanzie get one too? I love mine and it does make a scary noise sometimes....but you get used to it!

  27. Great review! we just got a flexi too but haven't had the chance to give it a try yet! I hope it works as well for us as it did for you! Ours doesn't have our picture on it though:(

  28. Wyatt, this looks great - even though I'm a small four legged one compared to you, my Two Legged Ones are thinking that a flexi might be good for me as I'm quite strong (or so I like to believe) for a smaller four legged one! I am particularly impressed with the photograph of you. Very cool!

    Woof.
