I got a nice collar in the mail today from the folks at Ambertick.
It came all the way from Lithuania!
Click here to read about the story behind the collar.
I'm going to try it out over the spring and summer and report my findings.
Here is what the manufacturer has to say:
Ambertick as a natural tick and flea repellent works in two ways-
1) Aromatic repellent- Aromatic chemicals are released when exposed to the heat and friction of the fur.
2) Electrostatic repellent- A static electrical charge is generated when the amber stones are rubbed against the fur.
We are skeptical, but it does look handsome on Airedale fur and we like the natural method. :D
So, watch out fleas and ticks.....we are ready to do battle with our new golden necklace!!
Oh, and by the way.....could you send my sister Stanzie some cyber hugs.
Today, she had to go to the doggie dentist and get her teeth cleaned and have one tooth pulled.
She did super! She got a full 'senior girl' check up and had all her lumps and bumps checked out.
She came home and ate her dinner like a champ and now she is resting.
As a special treat for tomorrow, we have a big turkey in the oven for her...Turkey is her favorite!
(I would like to go to the dentist...I want my own Turkey)
Wyatt
That collar is gorgeous! Can't wait to hear how it works!
ReplyDeleteI hope Stanzie will feel well enough tomorrow to REALLY enjoy her turkey!
I hope the collar works for its purpose.
ReplyDeleteIf not.... you look grrrreat wearing it!
I hope Stanzie is doing well. Those procedures are not fun!
Take care
Kisses and hugs

The collar does look very good on you. I hope it does what is says it will. I have never had a flea problem and amazenly with all the woods and mountain hiking I do I have never had a tick. Crazy I know, but it is true. Maybe I give my own aromatic repellent. Hehhehhe
ReplyDeleteHey sweet Stanzie I am sending you all my super duper good vibes and prayers that tomorrow you will be 100% and will enjoy your turkey completely.
Blessings,
Goose
Stanzie! I'm going to get my dentals done tomorrow. When I'm done I'll come up for some turkey (and to get away from Otto!) Wyatt, that collar looks wonderful against your newly coiffed furs!

XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Interesting! But it sure is pretty
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Sorry you had to have a tooth pulled, but how cool that you get a whole turkey for your troubles.
ReplyDeleteMillie
The electrostatic repellent looks interesting. I hope it's more effective than the ones with chemicals on them. We have a massive tick infestation and I am just waiting for the pups to get better before I Frontline all of them.
ReplyDeleteHuggies and Cheese,
Haopee
P.S. Stanzie, you get all better okay!
DeleteOh please do let us know if the collar works. Hopefully it's more effective than the various natural midge repellants sold in Scotland. It does at least look most distinguished.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs to Stanzie.
Gail says, believe me Wyatt, better no turkey than a trip to the dentist...
Your new necklace looks very handsome on you, Wyatt, and we hope it works!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, Stanzie!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

ReplyDeleteVery interesting collar, Wyatt. We will be interested in how it goes for you since Mom hates using all those nasty medicines on us to flea and tick prevention.
ReplyDeleteAll paws crossed that Stanzie gets all good results.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Of course I'll send some good thoughts Stanzie's way.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to see how your new collar works (BTW, Gizmo sent me) I've been using a natural protocol on my dogs for two full years now and will be starting a new one this year and was planning to write a post about it. It's good to know there are other natural products available.
that collar sure does look handsome on you - you wear it well!!! Big huggies for Stanzie - she is a trooper !
ReplyDeleteWe hope Stanzie is doing well today.. Sorry she had a tooth stolen.
ReplyDeleteLet us know about that Collar....
Since I'm so late getting around, I bet that turkey is cooking and Stanzie (and Wyatt) are drooling! It'll be interesting to see what you think about the collar.
ReplyDeleteOh Stanzie, as a fellow senior, I can relate. Getting teeth cleaned and pulled is no fun! Sending you lots of good thoughts.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
Dear Stanzie, I am very glad to know about that turkey. I had my senior blood panel recently and will have my teeth cleaned on Thursday. The last time I had a tooth drawn, my mom gave me canned food for a few days (neener, neener, neener, Miro) but I think I deserve my own turkey for all the trips I've made to the vet in the past few months. Mom will feel too guilty to refuse. Woeful looks and guilt are so useful.
ReplyDeleteYour fellow senior girl,
Alanis
All kinds of love and feeling better thoughs coming your way.
ReplyDeleteLove
Bert
PS Cool colar
Woof, that looks real cool.
ReplyDeleteOur new pup Babur can use one.
He attracts fleas like magnets!
Ugh!
