Fox Tails and Smiles :)

If you are fortunate enough to visit the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, chances are, you will find your way to Hood River, Oregon. That is where my human dad's family lives.
They have orchards of apples, pears and cherries and a farm store on the fruit loop!

I love to come here, it makes my tail wag!

Smiley's Red Barn

Dad's niece and her husband have started a new venture with apples.
The apples go into these steel tanks...

and out comes sweet cider straight from the farm or several flavors of hard cider!

You can take home your favorite flavor in this little brown jug called a growler.
I like that, GROWLER...grrrr!

Just tell em' Wyatt sent you!

  11. Fox tail cider? That's the stuff for me. I'm bouncing right over.
    Toodle pip!
    Bertie.
PS from Gail: in the UK cider is always an alcoholic beverage. I fear Bertie might be disappointed by the American variety!

  19. Hey Wyatt!
Wow, I'm so very excited to say my Frosty Paws prize pack arrived yesterday afternoon! Woohoooo I've been into it already and it is wonderful. I'm doing a special Wyatt On Wednesday post in a few days to show everyone all about it. Thanks so much, my good and generous furiend!
Now, that cider sounds delish! I sure wish I lived close to you and we'd go together and share a growl or two or three or four! BOL

  20. We have a farm market in our area, that was just a small store when I was little, and has now become quite a fun place to shop! They sell all kinds of cheeses, pies, fruits and veggies, and also offer pick-your-own. They now have a winery too! My mother took me apple picking when I was young, and I did the same with my daughter. These types of stores are so special, aren't they?

  21. Oh Wyatt, you had me all worried abouts the 'fox tails'. Around here 'fox tails' are NASTY weed-like spiked tufted grass that gets all in doggies paws and causes all kinds of hurt! Phew! I thoughts you got some in your paws, and I was all kinds of worried!!
Okays, CIDER is MUCH better!!! That's the kind of Fox Tail I can get behind!!! BOL (get behind..hehehe)
I thinks I can taste it from here!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  22. Nice! Mom loves a good glass of hard cider--her son is working towards commercialization of his own cider and gets a lot of his apples from Hood River. I'll be sure to tell him about Fox Tail Cider (although he probably already knows...)

  24. Oregon is such a beautiful state! When my Mom was a little girl and lived in the West, that is where we would go for vacation.

Those "growlers" are super cool. What a nice keepsake after enjoying the contents!
