YAY!
My sister is feeling SO much better today!!
(This afternoon on the porch, looking at a box that came in the mail FOR US!)
Stanzie's bite incident, has put the peeps on spider patrol and research.
They have been raking, sweeping, blowing and cleaning all the places that Stanzie likes to hang out on the property.
One of her favorite places to lounge, is the den of hay that the peeps made for her under our big deck.
Today, they raked away all the hay and the first thing Mom saw was this large brown spider on the lattice.
So, she snapped it's picture for ID purposes, then she beat it to death with a rock.
We are "pro" nature around here, unless nature hurts MY SISTER!
(We will have Alpha Ecological Control back out SOON!)
The pictures on the lattice are our spider. The pictures on white are Google Images of the Hobo Spider.
We are not 100% sure, but we think it was a Hobo Spider.
Not as deadly as the Brown Recluse, but still poisonous.
Stanzie's bites....after a week of treatment and meds.
Stanzie has really rallied back! Today, she had her tennis ball out in the garden and was attempting to bury it, before being discovered.
That's a good sign!!
Wyatt
That naughty spider!!
ReplyDeleteWell we are glad Stanzie is feeling better!

Oh, Ma HATES spiders!!!! That is one frickin scary one!!! Those are one thingy that Ma will not 'relocate'!!! Sorry to the spider world, butts if you come near my Ma it is sure a death sentence!! BOL (me too...I likes to eat the occasional spidey if it crawls my way!!)
ReplyDeleteAnyhu, you are lookin' FABulous Stanzie! I thinks your attempt to bury your tenny ball is most impressive. I'm sure when you are 100%, you WILL succeed without being caught! hehehe
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Glad Stanzie is feeling better!! Those spiders would get the ole squishy squash around here... not a fan of poisonous buggies...
ReplyDeleteEew, that spider bite looks NASTY. We do not have poisonous spiders in the UK, but once, when Gail was working in NE Oklahoma, she woke up one morning with her lower arm all swollen up, and a friend said it was probably a spider bite, and after searching, a bite mark was identified. The perpetrator was never found, but looking at your map, we are thinking it could have been a brown recluse spider.
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
Yikes, dose spiders is nasty lookin! Glad Stanzie is feeling better.

Yikes and we think under a rock brown bread (dead) is the best place for it. Get better soon sweet Turkey Leg. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
That is one nasty looking spider and one very sore leg. We are so glad Stanzie is doing better. Nature is nature and it will be very hard to keep those spiders away, but we hope they will decide they really don't like the taste of dog:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
OH Stanzie.... we don't want to hurt your feelings... butt we MUST say... your poor Leg looks Awful ... We are so VERY MUCH sorry that the Nasty Spider Bit you.
ReplyDeleteWe are GLAD that your mom took ACTION with that HUGE spider. WE can certainly UNDERSTAND that she wanted to PERMANENTLY prevent him from EVER biting Either of you.
We are not big on killing Snakes... butt last summer dad had to do that... since there was a BIG ONE here that REFUSED to Stay... in his RELOCATION Program. He was afraid that it would try to HUG US...
Stanzie you keep getting BETTER...
PeeS... was that a tennis ball SEED? Were you trying to plant a TB TREE?
Oh Stanzie your poor leg... hope it will heal up very soon. We dislike spiderman and his friends, they are dangerous. But I'm glad you feel better, Stanzie and you made a nice hole for Mr. Wilson.
ReplyDeleteWe guess your mom sent that hobo packing! Glad Stanzie is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteOh no!!!! My friend Kris who runs the Dogue De Bordeaux rescue of the West Coast had a dog that got bit on the stomach by a hobo spider and had to have her whole stomach opened up and sutured shut... I've never seen anything like that. Poor Stanzie! Glad she is feeling better.

ReplyDeleteWow, I'm so sorry about your nasty ouchie! That looks so painful. I'm sending you healing vibes to get you even better even faster. My peeps get all creeped out by spiders too. YUCK. I don't blame you for wanting all of them gone, gone, gone. ick
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Furiend
Stanzie, you're POOR leg. We have lots of spiders around us...redbacks galore that are poisonous, but they aren't aggressive and we leave them alone. SHE only disposes of them when they come in our back room. We're glad you're healing.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Bella & Roxy
