Recently, the Kong Company asked us to review their dental products during February, Pet Dental Health Month. We were happy to respond. We have always liked Kong products and we want good dental health and great smiles!
Mom had this great idea that both of us dogs would sit nicely by the basket of Kong products and smile for a photo. Stanzie tipped over the basket not once, but 5 times! I had to be restrained with a leash, because I was so excited! Then, I chewed up the brochure....
Less photography, more chewing!
KONG Dental Rubber Toys and KONG Dental Chews Promote Oral Hygiene
GOLDEN, Colo. – Proper dental care is essential to canine health, but until recently, oral hygiene was largely overlooked in animal care. It wasn't until the 1980s and 90s that dentistry became a specialty in veterinary medicine. Up until then, almost no products were devoted to dog dental care--"doggie breath" was accepted as a fact of life, rather than a possible symptom of an underlying oral health issue. Fortunately, awareness of pet dental health has come a long way in recent years.
Today, most veterinary practices offer dental services, and innovators like the KONG Company have introduced a variety of products designed to promote healthy teeth, while also entertaining and rewarding dogs. Although great progress has been made in raising awareness of pet dental health, there still is much work to be done, which is why the KONG Company supports February as Pet Dental Health Month.
Dog dental care is more than cosmetic--it’s the key to preventing infections that can lead to heart, lung, liver and kidney disease. To help protect pets, KONG offers these dental treats and toys:
KONG Classic toys are the original multitasking solution for dogs. Not only do they help prevent separation anxiety, destructive chewing, boredom and other behavioral issues, KONG toys have multiple dental benefits. As a dog chews on a KONG, their teeth sink into the hollow rubber, cleansing the neck of the teeth and stimulating gum tissue. Chewing helps relieve teething pain in puppies and keeps adult dogs’ jaws strong, which is why the original KONG comes in rubber formulas designed for puppies, average chewers, power chewers and seniors.
KONG Dental Rubber toys are built with Patented Denta-Ridges™, special grooves designed to clean teeth and soothe gums as dogs chew. They’re made with durable KONG Classic rubber – the perfect texture for safely scraping food and plaque buildup from doggie teeth as pets gnaw. KONG Dental Rubber Toys are available in various interesting shapes and sizes to provide the right fit for long-lasting play in any size dog or puppy mouth.
KONG Dental Chews are designed to be as beneficial to teeth as they are tempting to dogs. These all-natural chews fight plaque and tarter buildup, inhibiting bacterial growth to reduce chances of gum disease. The vitamin-enriched formula is made only with healthy, human-grade ingredients. Designed to fit into a KONG, they’re available in three sizes and three delicious flavors--chicken, fresh breath and calcium—and are all made in the US with natural preservatives.
Pet parents can get a jump start on their dog’s oral health this National Pet Dental Health Month with help from KONG Dental products. KONG Dental Chews are delectable and nutritious, and the uniquely stimulating KONG Classic and Dental rubber toys will keep furry friends happily occupied for hours.
Thanks KONG!
When I finally got my Dental Stick, I LOVED it.
My mom loves the Dental Stick, because it is terrier tough.
My sister Stanzie got the Dental Chew and she was a happy Airedale.
Next, we are going to try smearing some peanut butter in the grooves of my dental stick, that will be a "GRAND" chewing event.....OH, happy day!

ReplyDeleteLily
those sound pretty good and anything that helps keep the toofers in good shape is worth having
ReplyDeleteWe got to review a couple of the chews, too! We really liked them. We have a lot of KONG toys; they're the only thing that will hold up to us. And now that Maggie has joined the family, it's mostly the black/extreme ones. We're hoping KONG will start making the dental toys in black!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
Mom says that she's going to look for them next time she heads to our local Agway! Great review, Wyatt and Stanzie!
