Why Wyatt likes Rainy Days

BECAUSE...
The moss is fuzzier
The bugs come out to play
other slimy things slither.
The grass tastes better

The leaves are redder
But, the best part of THIS rainy fall day...
We shopped at the 'Edelweiss Sausage and Deli',
and dinner tonight is:
German sausage, rye bread and apples dipped in cheese fondue!
I think there might be a few bites for a couple of Airedales!

Gutes Essen, lasst uns essen!
(Good Food, let's eat!)

Wyatt

  6. Eeek, that salamander Wyatt is sniffing is one of the most poisonous creatures in the Pacific Northwest. The poison can even be absorbed through the skin, and is secreted from glands on their backs. They are called the Fire-bellied Newt.

I saw many cats die from catching those little guys. Best to keep dogs, cats, and kids far, far away from them!

  10. Well, now that you put it that way, rainy days sure do seem like good ones, especially if they all end with a yummy meal like that.

  17. Hard to be sure from the photo but it's definitely not a fire-belly. Could be a nice little Columbia Torrent. Here's a link: http://www.californiaherps.com/noncal/northwest/nwsalamanders/pages/r.kezeri.html
    Lucky Wyatt to find one!

  19. A Rainy day means snail hunting in the yard here. And everything smells so wonderfully fragrant after. But you are so right...rainy days just seem to bring out the best cooking...we love a nice stew simmered all day when it rains, but that German meal looks pretty dawg gone good!
