Look little tomatoes...It's the sun!
Hey, it seems to be working. We have ripening.
Oh, how I love my VEG!
What's up Doc?
Our friend Fern makes a veggie stew for her Dog 'Bambi'.
It is healthy and delish. Stanzie begged for more. I really liked the sweet potatoes.(we left out the jalapeno...)
Stop by Fern and Bambi's place to say HI!
Bambi's Veggie Dog Stew
1 cup Barley
4-6 fresh Tomatoes
2 cups Green Beans
1 Sweet Potato cut into bite size pieces
1 jalapeno pepper, diced (seeds removed)
2 1/2 cups of water
dash of sea salt
misc. fresh herbs
Cook on stove top for 12-15 minutes. Cool and Eat!
I think the band 'Pink Martini', must have wrote this song just for me and my tomatoes!
It has a long musical intro, lyrics start about a 1/3 into the song. It's worth the wait.
Eat your daily VEG!
And if you ever get the chance to see Pink Martini perform...JUST DO IT!
Nice airekhut fur your tomatoes!ReplyDelete
The stew looks yummy fur Mom and me!
Thanks fur sharing the Pink Martini - now Mom won't need any AGJ!
That sounds good enough for me to eat!ReplyDelete
Wyatt, how does you mom and dad get you to pose so well in all these shots? :) I bet you just love the camera! or the camera loves you:)ReplyDelete
Will try the veggie stew for Bender and Barbie some time soon. They love fruit more than veg though, especially apples. :)
Oh I am so happy to see my name on your post!!!!!!!!! Very nice if anyone has any questions just tell them to come see me. Could you find rolled barily?? We can only get it in an all organic store and sometimes they have the rolled and sometime they have the pearled and that has to have more water and longer cooking time.
Where do you buy it??
Fern and Bambi have a great recipe there - bet the humans would like it too. We would like to know the answer to Jet's question - are there lots of bribes involved?;-)ReplyDelete

Gee...think of all the stew you can have with all those tomatoes!! I will have Mom try the reciepe! BTW I love carrots too!! I hop like I am part rabbit!! hehe
When mom started taking my picture, she would give me treats. Now, I get so happy every time I see the camera, no treats required. It helps that I'm always happy and I love for my peeps to be outside!ReplyDelete

Last year we had the same problem. We picked them and left them on the windowsil until they went red. Love the song and don't fall for the "no treats" trick. Must get George to give you some tips. LOL

We have overheard our mom TALKING to the tomatoes, asking them not to burst in the rain. We like the burst ones because she gives some of 'em to us!ReplyDelete

I sure hope those tomatoes get red soon!ReplyDelete
I didn't know you could do that to tomato plants! It's too late for mine this year, but I'll try it next year.ReplyDelete

I'd eat that stew in a heartbeat and so would Mumsie...oh yum....ReplyDelete
In that pic of you in the snow, where was that taken, Wyatt?
That was quite a snowfall!!
Have you ever heard of Fireblight? We have it on our pear tree...our favorite tree that we can eat the yummy bears off of...sniff...can it be saved?
I think it's very Most Wonderful that you luvs your veggies. I've only found a few that I like myself. Celery's one of 'em. Mom says that's weird. Is that weird?ReplyDelete
Wiggles & Wags,
Great idea about the tomato haircut. I'm also going to try cutting the roots 6" from the trunk of the plant. Suppose to speed up ripening.ReplyDelete
This is so very exciting!!! We just came from the blog hop to say hello and here we find that you are our neightbors! Can you believe it? We live in Estacada, but don't tell anybody :) My little brother Higgins went to doggie school in Oregon City. Do you sell to the general public or wholesale? We love to buy stuff for our garden so it would be fun to meet sometime!
P.S. I am your 100th follower! How cool is that?ReplyDelete
