Hang on Little Tomato

In a last ditch effort to get some red tomatoes, we gave the tomato plants a big haircut! Nothing left but stalks and fruit!
Look little tomatoes...It's the sun!
Hey, it seems to be working. We have ripening.
Oh, how I love my VEG!
What's up Doc?

Our friend Fern makes a veggie stew for her Dog 'Bambi'.
It is healthy and delish. Stanzie begged for more. I really liked the sweet potatoes.(we left out the jalapeno...)
Stop by Fern and Bambi's place to say HI!

Bambi's Veggie  Dog Stew

1 cup Barley
4-6 fresh Tomatoes
2 cups Green Beans
1 Sweet Potato cut into bite size pieces
1 jalapeno pepper, diced (seeds removed)
2 1/2 cups of water
dash of sea salt
misc. fresh herbs

Cook on stove top for 12-15 minutes. Cool and Eat!

I think the band 'Pink Martini', must have wrote this song just for me and my tomatoes!
It has a long musical intro, lyrics start about a 1/3 into the song. It's worth the wait.
Eat your daily VEG!
And if you ever get the chance to see Pink Martini perform...JUST DO IT!
Wyatt

  3. Hi Wyatt,
Oh I am so happy to see my name on your post!!!!!!!!! Very nice if anyone has any questions just tell them to come see me. Could you find rolled barily?? We can only get it in an all organic store and sometimes they have the rolled and sometime they have the pearled and that has to have more water and longer cooking time.
    Where do you buy it??
    XXOO, Fern
    PS thanks!!

  7. When mom started taking my picture, she would give me treats. Now, I get so happy every time I see the camera, no treats required. It helps that I'm always happy and I love for my peeps to be outside!

Last year we had the same problem. We picked them and left them on the windowsil until they went red. Love the song and don't fall for the "no treats" trick. Must get George to give you some tips. LOL
