Just down the freeway from my place, is the historic town of Willamette.
Stanzie and I, like the park here.
There are ducks and kids and boats....
Did I mention ducks?
Mom likes it here, because there is a cute little nursery, 'Green Gate'.
They have some unusual plants.
...and some fish with big mouths.
Mom thought, I was a beggar! Heehee
Stanzie likes to come to the car shows here in Willamette.
I come for the thrills!
See you at the Park!!
Wyatt and Stanzie
This is for you Fern :)
Recipe for Strawberry Gelato
(We use a Cuisinart ice cream maker)
4 egg yolks, 1 cup granulated sugar, 2 cups milk, 2 cups pureed strawberries, 1/2 tsp. vanilla.
1) In a bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar until thickened and pale yellow. Set aside.
2) In a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring milk to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Gradually whisk into the egg mixture.
3) Return entire mixture to the saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring often, until the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon. Be careful not to let it boil. Let cool to room temperature.
4) Stir in strawberry puree and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate until completely cold or overnight.
5) Stir the mixture and transfer to an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. (25-30 minutes in a Cuisinart ice cream maker)
What a cool place to visit! Love that plant! That is awesome!! Well, of course so are you and Stanzie! Have a Happy Wednesday. :)

Thank you so much for the recipe!!!!! Now to modify it!! Going to use honey instead of sugar. I don't have a ice cream maker, can you just put it in the freezer?? lol Me and my problems!! It sounds just right for the strawberries I have in the freezer. I have put a lot in there!!! What do you think??
ReplyDeletexx, Fern
That place looks like fun! Mom has a crazy dream about having a koi pond one day.
ReplyDeleteOooooo! We may have to try that gelato! Mom's been wanting to give the ice cream maker a spin!
Bunny
That really looks like a great place to visit! Love the fish there! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly
ReplyDeleteWhat a super fun place that is! One time my mom worked with somebuddy who lived in Oregon and she learned how to say Willamette the right way. There's a street here named "Willamette" but everyone pronounces it "WILL-uh-met." And they look at her weird when she tries to pronounce it the right way.
ReplyDeleteOH! And that gelato stuff looks super duper tasty! I don't think I'll ever gets my mom to make us any so can I come over to your house?
Wiggles & Wags,
mayzie
What a cool place! Mom loved that unusual plant, but we loved that fish - bet he can suck a lot of treats down that big mouth:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe - now to get Mom to get us one of those ice cream machines.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
That begging fish is awesome! If he saw your strawberry gelato, he'd probably jump right out of the water!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Willamette and I'm definitely to check it out. Thanks!

What a cool place! We think Stanzie should have that blue convertible - it matches her harness :)
ReplyDeleteThat strawberry confection looks yummy, but we won't be getting any here. Mom won't make anything with more than 3 ingredients and two steps! BOL! Hmmm, maybe we can buy some already made?!
The Road Dogs
I'd stay clear of the fish Wyatt, looks to me like it might fancy you for dinner!
ReplyDeleteWow, fun park, fun plants, coold cars, fun slide but most of all...
ReplyDeleteIce cream!!!!

PeeS...Mom says thanks, that is just the recipe that she has been looking for!
Mom loves the cool little unusual plant and we wish we had some of that yummy gelato!
ReplyDeleteHave fun zooming down the slide, Wyatt!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
I like those ducks too, but don't care for the slide...to scarey unless I'm on mom's lap!
ReplyDeleteYour park looks like it has much to offer for everyone! We love barking at the sand hill cranes when they overwinter here and I go with dad to car shows (we are both big fans). Nuka would be the daredevil to try the slides. But we must agree, the ice cream was our favorite photo! Now we are hungry!
ReplyDeleteI think those fish wanted a big old smootch!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Wyatt!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a pawesome place! My mom is going all squeeeeee about that blue car...she wants one!! Love the plants and the pond!
